Hey there 👋, and welcome to my corner of the internet!
My name is Quentin Mayo, and I wear a few different hats — Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, lifelong learner, husband, and full-time dad to three amazing kids. Life is full and chaotic in the best possible way, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Professionally, I’ve spent the last decade focused on securing complex systems at organizations like Nextdoor and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. My expertise spans application security, cloud security (AWS & Kubernetes), DevSecOps, and vulnerability management. I love building scalable, automated solutions that help teams move fast without sacrificing security. Most recently, I led application security efforts at Nextdoor, helping scale our security posture during periods of rapid growth and IPO prep.
But beyond the code and security audits, I’m passionate about learning — whether it’s a new tech stack, an ML framework, or just a better way to organize life with toddlers. I’m constantly driven by curiosity, and I love collaborating with others who share that same spark.
This blog is where I’ll share thoughts on tech, reflections on career and parenthood, and hopefully connect with others navigating similar paths.
